Exeter Airport firefighters raise over £2,500 for Young Lives vs Cancer

Two firefighters from Exeter Airport have raised more than £2,500 for charity after successfully completing the gruelling 100km Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge in South Wales.

Chris Briggs and Iwan Jones, who serve with Exeter Airport Fire & Rescue Service, took on the two-day endurance event to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that provides vital help to children, young people and their families facing cancer.

Local support needed for charity jazz concert

A man from Exeter is hoping to organise a jazz concert in aid of Hospiscare but is in need of funding from local businesses.

Wayne Hill has been inspired to organise this charity event after losing family and friends to cancer. He needs local businesses in Exeter to help support this event by funding for jazz bands and singers, technicians and tickets.

He is hoping to run the event in the Voodoo Lounge at the Phoenix Art Centre, on 10th August 2013.

The 2012 golf captains at Exeter Golf and Country Club presented a cheque for £8250 to Diabetes UK at the club’s annual ‘Turkey Trot’ golf competition.

Leading Devon law firm Kitsons raised a fantastic £1,000 for Devon Community Foundation, thanks to their recent Christmas Quiz.
