Adam Clark, a Sales Manager from Exeter, completed the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 21 April for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Golfers needed for charity fundraiser for Exeter's WESC Foundation

WESC Foundation is looking for teams of four to take part in their charity golf day on Friday 10 May at Crediton Downes Golf Club.

The golf day, sponsored by Michelmores, will raise vital funds for the children and young people at WESC Foundation who contend with sight loss and complex needs. For just £170 per team, the day includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf, refreshments at the 10th hole and a delicious two-course evening dinner, complete with brilliant raffle and team prizes.

Grand Western Canal to host charity walk

Families are being invited to the Grand Western Canal on Sunday 19 May to take part in the annual sponsored walk in aid of CLIC Sargent.

It is the 23rd year of the event in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. The walk covers 10 miles of the Grand Western Canal towpath, from Tiverton Canal Basin to Burlescombe village hall. Devon Hotels raised over £1,000 for the RNLI and Hospitality Action following a charity auction at their Annual Association Dinner, with each charity receiving £500 to put towards the valuable work they do.

James Sharp, Chair of Devon Hotels said: “We are grateful to our members for raising such a fantastic sum of money for these groups and for the prizes that they donated. Devon Hotels represents more than 50 hotels and restaurants in the county and the work that both the RNLI and Hospitality Action do is imperative to our industry, as well as Devon’s tourism.”

Big Breakfast raises big bucks for charity

FORCE, a local cancer charity, held a ‘Great Devon Breakfast’ at St Olaves Hotel in Exeter and over 50 people from the local business community joined the organisers to help raise vital funds for the charity.

The event, hosted by Gilbert Stephens LLP, kick started the law firm's charity partnership with FORCE and the breakfast event raised over £400.

Devon Community Foundation welcoming cycle in Devon this weekend

Devon Community Foundation are looking forward to welcoming Calderdale Community Foundation this weekend when they are passing through the county as part of their 906 mile Land’s End to John O’Groats bike ride raising money for young apprenticeships.

FORCE supporter Gary Moore has organised an online auction on EBay to raise money for the charity.

Gary will be auctioning many fantastic items - donated by celebrities and sports clubs. The auction goes live on 15 April and will run for seven days, ending on 22 April.
