Children from Wynstream School in Exeter have presented a cheque for £2,056.22 to FORCE Cancer Charity.

The money was raised from a fun run that involved nearly every one of their 350 pupils, from reception class to Year 6.

They walked, jogged and ran laps of the school playing field for up to 40 minutes.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) are calling for people to lace up their walking boots and take on the Incredible Hike in May 2024.

The charity’s Incredible Hike challenge is a guided 3-day walk from Friday 17 May to Sunday 19 May 2024, totalling 60 miles along the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Croyde.

With only 50 places available, this is going to be a sell-out event.

Participants can return to walk year on year to complete the entire 630 miles of National Trail, while raising money for children and young people living with life-limiting...

A sponsored step challenge which raises vital funds for leading charity Diabetes UK returns this summer – and a call has gone out for people from Devon to sign up.

The One Million Step Challenge, sponsored by Fitbit, runs between 1 July and 30 September and tasks participants with completing a massive one million steps over three months – around 10,000 a day. Participants can take on the challenge from their own doorstep, at their own pace.

Local charity, Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI), is celebrating its 30th anniversary this summer!

Established in 1993, ECI has supported more than 50,000 people in Exeter and across Devon over the last three decades.

Initially set up by local churches to help homeless people in Exeter, ECI was originally known as the Palace Gate Project. It soon became an umbrella charity creating more than 25 new community projects, several of which still operate as independent charities today, including St Sidwell’s Centre, St Petrock’s and Homemaker South West Ltd.

The 24th annual Nello cycle ride in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity is on course to raise £60,000.

Nearly 900 cyclists took to the roads around Devon to support the Exeter-based charity, which offers free support and advice to local people affected by cancer.

The riders tackled 60 or 100 mile routes in glorious sunshine, starting and finishing at Topsham Rugby Club.
