Family raises £10,000 for Samaritans to remember Danielle

A dozen members of an extended westcountry family have handed over a huge fundraising cheque to Samaritans.

The £10,000 donation - one of the largest ever made to the Exeter, Mid and East Devon branch of the charity - was raised to remember Danielle Cornish who died last summer after losing a battle with her mental health.

Tesco is making it easier than ever for shoppers to give a helping hand to food banks and charities providing aid to people in Devon this summer.

A range of stores across the county have been selected to take part in the special six-week trial. They will be offering pre-filled donation bags available for customers to buy and donate to the charities FareShare and the Trussell Trust.

The Crematorium and Memorial Group donates over £1million to charity by recycling metal body parts.

The Crematorium and Memorial Group (CMG), part of Dignity, has donated over £1 million to good causes since this time last year. Homelessness charities providing vital services within Devon have today issued a plea to Devon County Council to reject proposed cuts to homelessness funding ahead of a special meeting of the Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Committee.
