Bishop Fleming’s Exeter and Torquay offices are celebrating a successful year-long partnership with FORCE Cancer Charity, raising over £8,000 to support people affected by cancer across the region.

The collaboration formed part of the firm’s 1% for Communities initiative, launched in July 2024, which pledges to give back 1% of Bishop Fleming’s turnover through fundraising, volunteering, and community-focused projects.

Recycle your real Christmas tree to support your local hospice

Hospiscare have launched their annual Christmas Tree Recycling scheme to support end-of-life care across the heart of Devon.

On Thursday 11, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 January 2024, Hospiscare and a team of volunteers will be heading out in full force to collect and recycle Christmas trees in return for a donation to the local charity.

Collections will take place in Crediton, Exeter, Exmouth, Honiton, Tiverton, Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary, with a recommended donation of £15 per tree.

A five-star builder is supporting an Exeter-based estate agent in their charity drive for two local charities.

Persimmon Homes South West donated £1,000 to Right At Homes Estate Agents’ Christmas charity event this year, which will go towards helping Pete’s Dragons and Andy’s Man Club.

The event was held at Birchy Barton Hill in Exeter on Sunday (3rd December). Local residents decorated the outside of their homes for the nighttime event, which saw stalls on the agent’s driveway as well as those of the other shops on the street.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is partnering with St Margaret’s Hospice Care to offer a Christmas tree recycling service for households across Somerset.

Last Christmas, ‘treecyclers’ raised almost £8,000 for CHSW, which runs the Little Bridge House children’s hospice in North Devon, as well as Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell. This year, it is collecting real trees in even more locations in return for a donation.

An Exeter care home has opened an on-site charity shop for residents where they can buy their own clothes.

Tors’ Nik Naks at The Old Rectory was officially opened last week. The charity shop, which is based in a room inside the care home, stocks clothes, shoes, scarves, jewellery, and books.
