Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Choirs collaborate for cancer cause

Three choirs present Summer Sing – “a joyous, uplifting evening of singing” – in Exeter on Friday, July 8, to help people with cancer and their families. Exeter Junior School raises £1,700 for charity

Exeter Junior School pupils and staff were delighted to welcome Staff Nurse Bernard Langlois and Matron Lynne Forster from the Mardon Rehabilitation Centre to assembly on Monday 6 June. The Mardon Rehabilitation Centre nurses received a cheque for £427.95 and thanked the pupils for their donation. The money was raised as part of the Virgin Money ‘Make Your £5 Grow’ Independent Maths Project. Sainsbury’s Pinhoe donates £5k to local charity

Sainsbury’s Pinhoe has marked a year of fundraising for their 2015 Charity of the Year, Rainbow Living, with the presentation of a cheque for £5,207.

Hi-tech firm’s lift-off for air ambulance

A technology firm in Devon and Cornwall is helping to keep a publicly-funded life-saving air ambulance going. ITEC, based in Exeter, Plymouth and Redruth, is now providing IT support for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) following a rigorous tendering process. The essential back-up ensures vital computer communications remain robust, enabling the charitable trust to raise the money to fund the helicopter’s 700 missions a year. Free, specialist Information and support about cancer is coming to Devon from Monday 20th June to Thursday 23rd June. Macmillan Cancer Support’s mobile service will be visiting the area, with cancer information specialists on hand to answer questions and provide information.

What an amazing Exeter Rainbow Run! With 1700 runners, steel drummers, Storm Troopers, Heart FM and bouncy castles, this year’s Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run was the best yet! As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations for the charity, the run started with silver streamers and the record number of participants enjoyed a madcap, mayhem of riotous colour as they ran through the paint stations along the course. Go Commando for two great causes

The Royal Marines Commando Challenge takes place on Saturday 8 October with the 4k and 10k, and Sunday 10 October with more 10ks and the 17k.

Exeter School pupils, parents, staff, friends and alumni are putting their best wheel forward to raise £50,000 for charity.

The team of nineteen riders supported by ten crew, two minibuses, and a van plan will cycle 904.8 miles and 46,678 vertical feet over ten days to raise money for the Children's Society and The Janine Di-Vincenzo Foundation.

Helmores cover Coast to Coast for charity

As part of their fundraising challenge for Children’s Hospice South West, Helmores Estate Agents are organising a cycling, walking and running journey from Ilfracombe to Exmouth.

Following the Tarka Trail, roads and the Exe Estuary cycle route members of the Helmores team, supported and sponsored by local businesses and the public, will be completing the 93 mile route in relays on Tuesday the 14th June.
