Local healthcare and protection insurance provider The Exeter has marked two years of fundraising for their Charity of the Year, Rainbow Living, with the presentation of a cheque for an outstanding £16,396.

Over the two years in which Rainbow Living has been their Charity of the Year, The Exeter organised a variety of fundraising events, including a 15-mile sponsored walk and 72-mile sponsored cycle, dress down days, raffles and cake sales, whilst employee Adrian Thorley ran the London Marathon for the local charity in April.

When a Freemasons Lodge was first established in Moretonhampstead a town on Dartmoor in 1932 they purchased the freehold of their present building.

They selected the name “Sanctuary Lodge” after “Sentry Field” where French prisoners held during the Napoleonic War could, if they escaped from Dartmoor prison claim sanctuary and possibly become parole prisoners working for the local gentry of the area.
