Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Exeter Deaf Academy, Princesshay's charity of the year, launched its charity raffle of a Mercedes Benz A-Class in April and now the countdown has started to announce the winner of the amazing prize, a £22,000 A-Class, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of Exeter to raise money for the Exeter Deaf Academy.

To date, volunteers have sold over 4,000 raffle tickets from the stand in Princesshay and with the busy shopping period beginning, it is hoped that this figure will double before the winning ticket is drawn on the 24th December.

WESC Foundation – The Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment is proud to announce the opening of their sixth Social Enterprise Charity Shop in Cowick Street, St Thomas.

Swinton team walks 200 miles for SW charities

A team of colleagues from Swinton Insurance has raised £1,105 for the South West Costal Path Association (SWCPA) and Cancer Research, by walking 200 miles from Plymouth to Poole.

12 Business leaders from 11 South West-based branches of the UK’s largest high street insurance broker completed the momentous trek, which took place over five Sundays in October.

Each Sunday the team walked an average of 40 miles, starting at the Stoke Beach in Plymouth on the 2nd of October and completing the walk on the Sunday 30th October at the South Haven Point in Poole Harbour.

This Christmas, ActionAid release figures revealing Exeter to be the ninth most generous city in the UK based on the number of children sponsored across Africa, Asia and South America by local people.

Exeter was ranked the ninth most generous out of a top twenty survey, with people from the area sponsoring over 172 children - enough children to fill over six classrooms.

The figures show that there are currently 65 million across the globe displaced from their homes due to unprecedented levels of conflict. Exminster Garage teamed up with a local rock band to raise funds for charity Rock 2 Recovery after pledging to help those who serve their country in the British Armed Forces.
