Staff from the Nuffield Heath Exeter Hospital have walked through the night to raise money for the Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay.

Business Development Coordinator Sophie Newbolt, Out Patient Services Manager Julie Chisholm, Ward Manager Sue Bore and Staff Nurse Alison Harbord entered the 15-mile Midnight Walk as the “Nuffield Onesies”.

They raised £500 for the hospice.

Julie said: “I worked at Rowcroft as a Senior Staff Nurse for ten years. It just seemed right to do this walk for them to support the excellent work they do.”

Sophie said: “My friend’s grandmother was cared for at Rowcroft and all the staff were wonderful. It was hard work, but really good fun as well, and there was a great atmosphere.”

The walk started at 8pm last Saturday and the team finished at 1am! You can find out more about the event, and sponsor them by going to www.justgiving.com/teams/the-Nuffield-onesies

Hospital director Paul Taylor said: “The staff here at the Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital do a really good job. As well as their work in the hospital, they are committed to helping out others when they can. Julie, Sophie, Sue and Alison did brilliantly to raise this money.”
