Fundraising for World Suicide Prevention Day and World Mental Health Day today

A £325 share of £1300.00 has been raised by a grateful attendee of Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide 'Sobs' Exeter, and has been presented to co-incide with today's World Mental Health Day.

Monies were from a raffle started on the 10th September 2018 (World Awareness of Suicide Preventation Day), and are being split equally between the Samaritans Taunton, Mind Taunton & West Somerset, Sobs UK and Sobs Exeter.

Everyone in the group has lost either a child, a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, a partner, a relative, a colleague or a friend.   Sobs exists to help the survivors of bereavement by suicide or self-inflicted death support each other in the months and years following. Some of our members lost loved ones over 30 years ago, and behind the smile is the pain.  The group appears to make a huge difference to all those that attend.

Suicide recognises no social, ethnic or cultural boundaries and neither does Sobs.

The service has a helpline 0300 111 5065 staffed by volunteers 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Monday to Friday and your local group can be found through www.uksobs.org.

If you or some-one you know is feeling low, please always remember the Samaritans are also available 24 hours a day on 116 123 or jo@samaritans.org
