An Exeter opticians is hosting a week-long fundraising event to raise vital funds for the Exeter Multiple Sclerosis Society.

From Monday 27 July staff at Specsavers, located at 247 High Street, will be wearing t-shirts and distributing leaflets to raise awareness of the condition. The team will be encouraging local residents to dig deep and raise as much as possible for the charity.

Store director, Lillian Agelus says: ‘We want to encourage customers old and new to come into the store and take part in the fundraising drive.

‘On Tuesday 28 July all staff members will be taking part in a training session with an MS Society trainer. We always want to ensure that all of our customers receive the best possible service when they visit us and so the MS training seemed like the next step to ensure they have a positive experience in store.’

The MS Society is the UK’s leading MS charity. Since 1953, they’ve been providing information and support, funding research and fighting for change. They offer support and information for those affected by MS in the local Exeter area. Most of the Society's publications are available at their base in the South West MS Therapy Centre and there is a computer for the use of members.
