Exeter Barnfield Theatre announce the programme for September

10-13 September- Exeter Little Theatre Company presents Michael Frayn’s Noises Off.  From a disastrous dress rehearsal, a sleep-deprived touring company of actors perform their fictional farce, Nothing On.  Where the cast fumble their entrances and exits, to bothersome props, too many sardines and a final performance of missed cues and forgotten lines, Noises Off explores the explosive personal relationships that lead to off-stage shenanigans and on-stage bedlam.

14 September – Alan West & Friends, as part of Acoustica Festival. They say that some things are meant to be.  Nothing could be truer about the coming together of two extraordinary talents that are Alan West and Steve Black.  With over 50 years of professional performing between them, they discovered that their unique combination puts a refreshing slant on country music.  Add to this the incredible guitar talent of Adam Sweet and you have an exciting mixture of songs, a great on-stage rapport and performances that are honest, instant, inventive, adaptive and fun.

19 September - GB Promotions presents The New Jersey Boys – a musical tribute to the West End stage show.  Don’t miss this chance to let the New Jersey Boys take you back to that magical time when four boys from the wrong side of the tracks invented their own unique sound to become one of the most successful bands of all time – The Four Seasons.  Featuring all their hits, including Walk Like A Man, Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry and many more.

20 & 21 September – Applecart presents i am Mark.  Applecart’s creative team is headed up by Peter Moreton and Phil Summers.  Peter has extensive experience as performer and MD in the West End, working with companies such as Chichester Festival Theatre, Cheek by Jowl, RSC, Propeller and the National Theatre; Phil has over 20 years experience as a storyteller having trained in improvisation under John Hodgson at Bretton Hall.  Applecart’s unique style of performance has attracted capacity audiences at festivals, universities and conferences.  Their unique brand of storytelling and drama is both theatrical and disarming, sometimes funny and often deeply moving.
.
26 September – Komedia presents Krater Comedy Club.   The beginning of an exciting partnership between the Barnfield and Komedia’s Krater Comedy Club which will bring you the best in UK live stand up every month.  During the last 15 years, Komedia ‘s Krater Comedy Club has hosted the biggest names in UK comedy and has won more Chortle Comedy Awards than any other operater.  The line-up this month is Stephen Grant, Mark Olver, David Jordan, Chris Choppin and Chris Martin.

26 September – Billy Bottle & The Multiple.  Burrowing in the depths of Devon, Billy Bottle ran away from the circus to work with Canterbury organ figurehead, Caravan’s Dave Sinclair and jazz legend Mike Westbrook.  His musical partner is the vocalist, violinist and songwriter Martine Waltier, whose soulful voice combines honesty and warmth.  They are joined by The Multiple, including the graceful flute of Vivien Goodwin-Darke, the stomping trombone of Angus Menter and the outrageously daring sax of Roz Harding.  On bass is Jim Rintoul who can be found plucking his stuff alongside the percussive wonders of Coach York.

27 September – Peter Grant.  Peter is a world-class vocalist and song writer with three best-selling albums to his credit.  His concerts, in which he effortlessly combines exemplary interpretations of jazz and pop standards with his own original compositions, are full of soul, energy and passion – every song old or new is sung from his heart. Peter is accompanied in this concert by Danny McCormack on piano.
