Local business launches new CCTV service for schools and small businesses in the West Country

A South West-based communications company is now offering a brand new CCTV service to local organisations looking to maximise their security and efficiency.

Equations Voice and Data, with offices in Devon and Somerset, has been providing telephone systems and technology to businesses, schools, medical practices and professional service providers across the South West for more than 25 years, and has now extended its offering to CCTV.

The ‘Big Devon March’* encourages employees to get out of the office and raise heart rates a little!  If becoming healthier isn’t incentive enough, there are also prizes on offer for those workplaces which lead the way in striding out across the county. Individuals can sign up alongside work colleagues and start ‘collecting’ steps! Those who achieve the highest average numbers will put their company on the leaderboard!

Jamie Bartlett, journalist, BBC presenter and author of the famed work, The Dark Net, will be visiting Exeter on Wednesday 6 March to present to business owners at a free to attend event.

Jamie is the keynote speaker at the south west-based Bluegrass Group’s one-day conference, "Protect, Detect, Mitigate", during their Cyber Security Awareness Week (CSAW).

Independent Devon Contractors, appointed as the main contractor by Exeter College on its new £2.3m gymnasium and state-of-the-art ‘New York’-style dance studio, are on schedule to complete in spring 2019.  The impressive extension to the Sports Hall in Victoria Yard is part of the initial phase of Exeter College’s proposed £70m masterplan for its city-centre sites

The project was procured through a two-stage tender process and Exeter-based Devon Contractors are working with local architectural practice, Grainge Architects who are located on the Quay.

Exeter is the only city in the UK where the number of business closures fell last year, a new report has revealed.

The Centre for Cities Outlook report for 2019 shows Exeter bucking the trend when it comes to the health of its businesses.

Cities Outlook 2019 is an annual health check of the 63 largest cities in the UK.

Whilst other cities across the country have seen a significant increase in High Street shops and businesses closing down, Exeter is showing the complete opposite, with a 2 per cent fall in closures.

EDDC agrees £1.1m Enterprise Zone investment in Exeter Science Park

East Devon District Council’s Cabinet last night agreed to invest £1.1m in the development of a new Open Innovation Building at Exeter Science Park, in the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone.

The investment will bring forward 20,000 square feet of space under one roof for growing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) sectors.
