Businesses: Don't become April fools

Exeter businesses are being warned they may become “April fools” by sacrificing tens of thousands of pounds in rating refunds and savings if they do not act quickly.

The Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary has scooped two top gongs in the Live Love Eat Awards.

Not only did the popular restaurant pick up the Platinum Award for the best restaurant in Devon at the event held at the Deer Park Hotel in Honiton, it also collected the coveted top spot as 2014 Regional Restaurant Champion.

“The team was absolutely thrilled to win the award for Devon, but to pick up the regional award was the icing on the cake,” said owner and head chef, Robin Rea, who founded the restaurant and butchers shop in Yonder Street in 2011.

New research from leading recruitment specialist Robert Half UK reveals that workplace discussions on politics are heating up in the run up to this year’s General Election. Everys Solicitors has announced plans to launch a specialist commercial team to facilitate deals worth millions of pounds for global businesses.

Ahead of the launch Everys has already helped secure several high value business deals. Thai corporation, the Srivikorn Group Holdings Co Ltd, whose shareholder owns a large share of Reading Football Club, recently completed on the purchase of the Madejski Hotel, next to the club’s stadium.
