Legal profession unites to Walk for Justice

The local legal profession and advice sector are joining forces on Monday 5th June 2017 from 5pm to take part in the Exeter Legal Walk.

The Legal Walk is one of over 30 similar events which run across England and Wales. The sponsored walk raises funds for local free legal advice charities in Exeter and throughout the South West region. Teams from local law firms, chambers and in-house legal teams are expected to come together along with local judges to support local advice services such as Citizens Advice and Law Centres.

Board of Exeter Science Park has announced the appointment of Dr Sally Basker as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Dr Basker will take up the new role on 3rd April.

Exeter Business Improvement District (BID) has recently welcomed two new members further widening the expertise offered in this thirteen-strong leadership team. Plans for Phase two of the Exeter Gateway distribution facility will put the city and surrounding area on the map as the South West’s leading distribution hub south of Bristol if they get the go ahead, says property consultancy JLL. Insurance industry software specialist, Business Administration and Actuary Corporation (BAAC), is opening a new office in Exeter, following the Managing Director’s relocation from South Africa.

Optimism revealed in SW Technology Survey

The first survey of technology companies by Tech South West has revealed high levels of optimism for growth across the region.

Carried out by Tech South West, the survey found that 80% of technology firms in the region believe 2017 will be a better year, with greater growth, than 2016, with no business expecting this year to be worse than last.
