Brewin Dolphin’s Southwest offices (Exeter, Plymouth and Truro) raised over £6000 for their chosen charity last year HeartSWell Southwest. The offices went the extra mile with several fundraising initiatives undertaken over the course of the year.

HeartSWell Southwest aims to make a positive difference to people in the Southwest affected by heart disease or a heart condition. Applications invited for Business Promotion Grant

Businesses in Devon have the opportunity to apply for Devon County Council’s Business Promotion Grant this month.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available through the scheme which aims to help companies who are looking to promote their products and services to wider audiences.

The funding, which is offered through a competitive bidding process, is to help local firms cover their exhibiting costs at high profile UK trade shows and events. Applications need to be submitted by noon on Monday 20 May 2019.

Investment continues at Exeter events venue

South west events company PM Hospitality is continuing to invest in its Exeter venue Rockbeare Manor, with the creation of a new bedroom suite, meaning the exclusive venue now sleeps up to 30 guests.

The Grade I listed Georgian manor house, located just outside Exeter, has played host to many weddings and events since it was refurbished in 2016. This is the 13th bedroom suite to be created at the prestigious venue.

Aimée Spencer, Director at Rockbeare Manor, said they had always intended to continue to invest in the property following its acquisition in 2015.

Main contractor on schedule for initial phase of college masterplan

Independent Devon Contractors, appointed as the main contractor by Exeter College on its new £2.3m gymnasium and state-of-the-art ‘New York’-style dance studio, are on schedule to complete in spring 2019. The impressive extension to the Sports Hall in Victoria Yard is part of the initial phase of Exeter College’s proposed £70m masterplan for its city-centre sites
