A flooring retailer has marked the opening of its new £100,000 store in Newton Abbot by pledging its support for a local mental health support charity.

Flooring Superstore opened on the Kingsteignton Trading Estate, Pottery Road, in September.

The sun shone brightly the 15th Marnie Burgoyne Memorial Golf Day earlier this month when 50 teams, many from local businesses, took to the fairways at Exeter Golf & Country Club and helped to raise a fantastic £16,717 for local charity Hospiscare .

The day is organised by a committee of volunteers and is held each year in memory of Marnie Burgoyne, who was part of the founding team that helped raise the money to build the hospice building, Searle House, which opened in 1992.
