Exeter-based haulage operator, STR Logistics Limited is the latest company to join Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network which is part of JSE-listed Imperial Logistics (Imperial). STR Logistics will operate pallet handling and distribution services across the English Riviera and surrounding areas of Teignmouth and Newton Abbott for Palletways and its customers.

Anthony Quinn, STR joint managing director/owner, said: “Palletways has significant, well-defined domestic and pan-European distribution routes which we know will add value to our existing services. Innovative technology, like its customer portal and order monitoring and tracking systems, will also deliver operational efficiencies and benefit our customers, both large and small.  We’re delighted to join Palletways and the whole team is excited about the opportunities this will bring to our business.”

Commenting, Rob Gittins, managing director of Palletways UK, added: “The appointment of STR Logistics demonstrates the importance we place on recruiting experienced, well-managed firms in the logistics industry that have an excellent track record and are well-respected in their region. STR Logistics is a great asset to the network and we’re looking forward to drawing on their experience to grow our presence across the South West.”

Former Kuehne + Nagel senior executives, Anthony Quinn and Peter Adams, acquired STR Logistics Limited earlier this year. The company has been in operation for over 20 years specialising in the provision of professional transport logistics including first and last mile, multi-drop, two-man home deliveries, contract management, trunking operations and secure freight handling. Employing 120 people, STR Logistics operates a modern varied fleet of 91 vehicles from its 9,000 sq ft warehouse and depot base in Alphington.

Anthony outlines: “We’re looking forward to the exciting journey ahead to expand our service portfolio through Palletways, invest in a company rebrand and an office refresh and to increase our geographic presence as a true ‘Gateway to the South West’ provider. We see the South West not just as Devon and Cornwall, but also along the M5 corridor, including Dorset, Somerset, Wales, South Wales and Gloucestershire.

“STR goes live with a new office in Truro, Cornwall this month and we expect to open further offices in 2022 which will continue to move STR Logistics forward.”

STR Logistics joins over 120 independent transport providers that are part of Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before. The Palletways Group, renowned for its industry-leading IT developments and operational systems, comprises over 450 depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 24 European countries, including the UK.
