In 2021, most business will be conducted online, even once the government restrictions on movement have lifted, and it will even be true for local companies. The way businesses work has changed too, as most employees have to work remotely from home.

Every edge your business can gain to get clients and customers is a must as the competition expands, and larger or even global ones challenge local companies. Here are just five ways to help you level this extensive playing field.

#1 Give your website a UX (User Experience) make-over

User experience is more important than ever before. There is just so much choice available to customers that if your website looks too difficult to understand or not attractive enough, your customer will click away and go elsewhere.

With this in mind, too many flashy graphics can make your webpage load slowly, which can cause your desired audience to get bored waiting and click away before seeing what you have to offer.

#2 Boost your Social Media profile

It is all about ethics and brand identity in today's market, whereas it has been more product-led in the past. Customers want to know where your product has come from, its carbon footprint, and the story behind it. The best way to do this is through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to name but a few.

#3 Stop being restricted by your IT resources

Moving to cloud storage and storing everything online can make it easy for your teams to access and can be cheaper than your old server back at the office. You can make this saving because you will not be paying for hardware updates or new servers every couple of years. Data security is also generally better, and you should benefit from faster recovery from cyber-attacks if something does go wrong.

There are also plenty of cloud service providers available, but the better ones will have many cutting-edge features,  such as Intelligent File Storage, which should be one of the must-haves on your checklist.

#4 Task management software

Software with Gantt charts or similar is a must-have with organisational workloads. These will benefit you if you are employing freelancers who could be anywhere in the world and if you have your team working remotely or even working in your office base, as they will help everyone know what they are doing. You will be able to see how things are going on the planning front at a glance.

#5 Create a static content structure

The customer buying process has changed; customers are no longer influenced by a sales team and tend to go down their own research routes online. So, the need to create static (written) content gives the reader all the information they require on a product can help with building a relationship and trust. Doing this can, if done properly, influence a sale to the positive outcome; however, if you do it poorly, it can have the opposite effect.
