The Private Client Team at The Family Law Company received its second commendation of the year, this time at the Modern Law Awards.

The team, which provides crucial services to clients at the grittier end of family law, including domestic abuse, honour based violence and child abduction, was Highly Commended as Private Client Team of the Year in the awards, which seek to celebrate best practice in the modern legal services arena.

The Family Law Director, Jane Chanot who heads up the team, is a Family Law Resolution specialist and recognised by the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit in London, a specialist unit of just 35 solicitors’ firms. She said:

“I'm proud to work with one of the most hardworking and committed teams in this specialised area of family law - it's a thrill that we have been recognised for our work.

“We often have to think outside the box to ensure the right outcome for our clients, utilising the latest developments in technology and communications to help our work. We are also fortunate to have solicitors able to work efficiently in languages other than English when liaising with lawyers overseas.”

The team works tirelessly to help clients dealing with some of the toughest family issues, such as having a child taken abroad without their knowledge, or being threatened by family members who don’t approve of their marriage.

The specialist skills of the team were recognised earlier this year at the Devon and Somerset Law Society Awards, when they won the Team of the Year category.

The awards ceremony was held at the celebrated Hurlingham Club in London.
