Exeter’s Tyler Grange named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work - for the third consecutive year
Exeter-based B Corp four-day week environmental consultancy Tyler Grange has retained its place in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list - for the third consecutive year.
The prestigious 2026 line-up celebrates organisations with outstanding workplace culture, employee engagement and staff experience. The rankings are based on responses to an employee survey, developed by The Sunday Times in partnership with WorkL, alongside behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders and academics.
Tyler Grange was one of just 218 medium-sized organisations across the UK to make the 2026 list and achieved “excellent” ratings across every key category measured - including wellbeing, empowerment, reward and recognition, information sharing, pride and job satisfaction.
The consultancy also scored “excellent” for diversity and inclusion, confidence in management, wellbeing risk and employee retention. Judges also praised its 29% productivity increase following its adoption of a four-day working week, alongside a range of progressive employee benefits including enhanced parental leave, life insurance, access to an in-house clinical psychologist, resilience and mindfulness coaching, and its well-known “petiquette” policy, which welcomes well-behaved dogs into the workplace.
Tyler Grange co-founder and Managing Director Jon Berry said: “We have always believed that our culture is our greatest competitive advantage and that our people are our most valuable asset. To be recognised as one of the UK’s Best Places to Work again, for a third consecutive year, is a huge achievement and something we’re incredibly proud of.
“Retaining our position in the list reflects the environment we’ve worked very hard to create - one where people can thrive professionally and personally, while continuing to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. It is ultimately the passion, talent and commitment of our team that makes Tyler Grange what it is today.”
The accolade comes during Tyler Grange’s 15th anniversary year - a milestone that reflects both the company’s commercial growth and wider social impact. Since launching in 2010, the consultancy has invoiced £56million, surveyed more than one million trees, specified 2,500 bat boxes and helped secure planning permission for over 15,000 new social homes and more than 3,000 hectares of green infrastructure and public open space.
Alongside its business achievements, it’s also embraced a more relevant approach to working life - enjoying more than 200 non-working Fridays under its four-day week model and contributing over 8,000 volunteering hours to charities and local communities.
Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, said: “In an evolving world of work Britain’s leading employers are helping staff forge careers that count today – and in the future. In turn, the Best Places to Work have the resilience to weather the current economic storms baked in, thanks to engaged workers who go above and beyond with a smile. Our winning employers span sizes and sectors – from tiny charities and specialist law firms to multinational fast-food chains and utility giants, and everywhere in between. The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”
Lord Mark Price, founder of WorkL, said: “I am delighted that more companies than ever entered this year's Best Places to Work awards and more have been given winner’s medals. The scores are higher than last year showing a greater focus being put on how employees feel. All our research at WorkL clearly shows that happier workforces drive better commercial performance.”
Tyler Grange supports the Better Business Act, is an accredited Living Wage Employer and is a member of the Better Business Network - all of which advocate for a cleaner, greener, and fairer future.
It recently became a founding member of Myllium - a newly formed international network of organisations leading progress in nature, climate, sustainability, and social impact.
