Leading audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has appointed a new Audit Director to its Exeter office.

Hannah Cox, who joins from Grant Thornton, brings significant mid-market experience, complementing Bishop Fleming’s growth ambitions and adding strength across a variety of sectors, including consumer products, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and automotive sectors.

Hannah’s appointment is the latest in a string of senior hires as the firm accelerates its growth across its offices in the South West and Midlands, and follows the announcement of 73 new apprentices also joining the firm this month.

With expertise spanning startups, SMEs, family-owned, private equity-backed, and large listed businesses, Hannah will advise a broad range of clients on their growth journeys - from startup and scale-up through to larger corporate phases. Alongside this, Hannah’s strong background in Audit Quality Review from her tenure at EY will support the continued growth of Bishop Fleming’s audit team.

Hannah Cox commented:

“It was important to me to join a firm that not only had strong ambitions for growth but also a real focus on people and values. Bishop Fleming stood out as the perfect cultural and strategic fit.

“Having relocated to the South West to undertake this role, I am excited to build strong relationships in the region as we continue to develop our client offering. I’m keen to utilise my wealth of leadership experience to help develop and strengthen our talented audit team as we support our clients on their growth journeys.”

Bishop Fleming’s Better Growth vision has already seen the business double in size in recent years as the firm continues its sustainable organic growth through strategic appointments and acquisitions.

Fleur Lewis, Audit Partner and Exeter office lead, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Hannah to Bishop Fleming. Her appointment forms part of our wider recruitment and investment in our Exeter office in line with our ambitious growth plans. Hannah brings a wealth of experience from large, national firms which can be channelled into supporting both Bishop Fleming’s regional and national growth strategy.

“As the firm continues to experience rapid growth across its service lines, with audit growing 20% year-on-year, Hannah’s sector expertise, knowledge of mid-market businesses, and proven track record of leadership and people development will make her a fantastic addition to our team. I know she will play a key role in strengthening both our audit practice and our culture as we continue expanding our regional footprint."

Hannah will be based at Bishop Fleming’s new office in Winslade Park, Exeter, which opened in April.
