Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale has urged his side not to get carried away despite an excellent run of form, that sees them just two points off of the Sky Bet League Two play offs.

Fresh from the Devon derby victory against Plymouth Argyle, that saw youngster Ollie Watkins take all of the plaudits, Tisdale though pleased with City's recent results is staying grounded.

He said: “The worry is that you finish the game as high as a kite, you think everything is great. The reality is we are in with a chance of the play offs. We’ve created an opportunity for ourselves and we have to take it now.”

The clubs form has seen them unbeaten in eight consecutive games, with much of the praise going to Watkins. Though impressing many outside of Exeter, Tisdale knows there is a long way to go in the youngsters’ career and encouraged the 20-year-old to remain grounded.

He said: “It’s not unfair to say he’s been fabulous. He’s had a good start to his career, but that’s all it is and he’s got to continue his hard work.”

City’s next test is another local derby as they make the short trip to Huish Park to take on an in form Yeovil Town side, who have recently climbed away from the relegation places.

Ahead of the clash, Tisdale warned that it will not be an easy game for City as they come up against a side who haven’t conceded a goal in three matches.

On Saturday’s opponents the Grecians boss said: “You just have to have a look at the results they’ve had. Its not the fact they’ve won games, its that they’ve kept clean sheets and they’re in some kind of rhythm.”

Despite the match being a derby, Tisdale spoke of the positive relationship between the two sides but insisted both teams will be desperate to win.

He continued: “The clubs get on very well. We compete hard on the pitch, there’s always a very healthy level of competition and respect before, during and after, but we always have very competitive games.

The game takes place at 3pm on Saturday at Huish Park as the Grecians look to continue superb run.
