Police Commissioner's office to move to Middlemoor
Tony Hogg has today confirmed that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) will move from its leased premises on the Pynes Hill business park, Exeter, to police headquarters at Middlemoor.
To do this, extensive renovations must take place on the most suitable office and, following a successful tendering process in which a number of local contractors submitted bids, one of these has been successful.
Cost of this renovation cannot be revealed as the contract value is subject to commercial confidentiality. However, the OPCC can confirm this is substantially lower than previously estimated and the move will now be cost neutral in four years.
Andrew White, OPCC chief executive, said: “When the lease on Endeavour House expires in November this year substantial savings will begin to be made immediately. The PCC has decided that to delay this decision would incur additional costs as the current lease would need to be extended for at least a further year.
“Across Devon and Cornwall we are taking steps to withdraw from leased premises into sites that we already own and can occupy for no ongoing costs. This move is in line with that strategy.”
