Record breaking results for Blue Chip Holidays
Blue Chip Holidays has announced that 2015 has been its best year of trading to date, with the number of guests up by over 17.6% and revenues up an additional £2.15 million by 14.5% from £15.2 million in 2014. The Devon based UK holiday operator has also started 2016 in its strongest position in its 14-year history with forward bookings for guests arriving in 2016 up by 26.9% and revenues up by 28.8% year on year.
Perhaps even more impressive, Blue Chip Holidays has reported a 49.4% increase in bookings arriving in January 2016 compared with the same month in 2015. A notoriously difficult month for UK operators, the company has also seen a 42.3% increase year on year in revenues taken for guests booking to arrive in January 2016.
Managing Director, Allan Lambert, joined Blue Chip Holidays in 2014 with the task of spearheading a nationwide growth strategy. Using his extensive industry experience, Lambert has led the team responsible for achieving the recent record-breaking results. Commenting on the figures, Lambert said, “Since joining in 2014, the long term goal has been to take Blue Chip Holidays from being a regional leader to a national leader, to offer a growing selection of high end self-catering holiday homes and lodges in key locations across the UK and of course to increase sales and revenues. I am delighted about the results we have achieved in the last year because our success is down to having a better understanding of our guests who are looking for quality accommodation.
"Our new range of Lodges and Resorts have enabled us to reach a younger demographic, who typically book short breaks year round, which has had the knock on effect of lengthening our season. We are getting much better at selling breaks during the typically quieter months, which explains the exceptionally strong start to this year and which is helping the owners of our properties see a higher return on investment.
"Not only this, we are also seeing an increasing number of repeat bookings, which demonstrates that our guests trust us to provide an exceptional holiday experience.”
Based in Exeter, Blue Chip Holidays has an extensive and growing portfolio of properties, from country manors and Grade II listed houses to modern coastal apartments and lodges. Most recently launching a Yorkshire portfolio, the company plans to continue expanding into new regions whilst also increasing the choice available for rental. Having introduced a new bespoke concierge service in 2015, Blue Chip Holidays is set to further differentiate itself in 2016 with new partnerships that provide guests with a unique and memorable stay.
