Devon & Somerset Law Society (DASLS) hosted an Admissions Ceremony to welcome this year’s newly qualified solicitors.

The ceremony, the fifth of its kind, was held in the historic Guildhall in Exeter.

19 newly qualified solicitors from Devon and Somerset received Certificates of Congratulations from His Honour, Judge Geoffrey Mercer QC, who also gave a short talk recounting his early years in the legal profession.

DASLS President, Mark Roome said: “We were delighted to welcome so many new solicitors to the profession this year.

“The evening is intended to provide an introduction to DASLS and the work we do on behalf of the legal profession in Devon and Somerset, and we hope everyone enjoyed the occasion.”

It also offered an opportunity for the new solicitors to network with colleagues, members of the Committee, Past Presidents, and members of the local judiciary.

As one of the leading local Law Societies in England and Wales, DASLS encourages and supports innovation, integrity and leadership in the legal profession and provides a strong focus for lawyers in the region.
