Tilney Smith & Williamson continues investment in Exeter office with appointment of experienced Financial Planner

Tilney Smith & Williamson, the leading wealth management and professional services group, has appointed Neil Thornton as a Financial Planner based in its Exeter office as part of the firm’s continued expansion in the West Country. The news follows the recent appointment of Will Matthewman as an Investment Manager, adding a locally based investment management capability in Exeter for the first time.

Neil brings to Tilney Smith & Williamson more than 25 years financial services experience. He joins the firm from Aviva, where he has worked as a Financial Adviser in Devon and Cornwall for the past three and a half years. Prior to that he worked in the region for HSBC Retail Banking & Wealth Management, as well Banco Santander. The majority of his work revolves around servicing private client relationships as well as business development with key introducers. He specialises in investment, retirement planning and estate planning advice for private clients, working closely with an Investment Manager to ensure that the risk and objectives of portfolios meet the needs of his clients.

Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Exeter office, which is based in Sterling Court in the heart of the city, provides clients in the West Country with locally delivered, personal financial planning and investment management services.
