Organisers of the SME National Business Awards have announced they have opened entries early for the 2021 event.

The decision comes after organisers Events & PR were inundated with enquiries about this year's awards from business leaders looking to either enter themselves or nominate someone else for their great work during the pandemic.

In response to the demand, the SME National Business Awards 2021 opened for entries on Monday 25th January as part of an online pre-launch event.

Damian Cummins, Awards Director at Events & PR, said: "Last year we received so many entries from companies and individuals doing amazing things in a difficult year. We were so inspired by these entries we decided to add two new categories - Lockdown Leader and Business Chameleon. We had such a great response to these that we will include them again this year too."

The SME National Business Awards are now in their fifth year. They were created to raise the profile of the hardworking small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK.

There are 18 categories in total, covering a wide range of business achievements such as Innovation, Best New Business, Family Business of the Year, Service Excellence and High Growth.

The 2021 awards ceremony is due to take place at Wembley Stadium on Friday 3rd December.
