Exeter-based MAT finance specialists IMP Software named UK Education Industry Company of the Year by The Assignment Report
IMP Software has been named as The Assignment Report’s UK Education Industry Company of the Year 2025.
Exeter-based IMP supports smarter finance in multi-academy trusts with MAT-first solutions for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, ICFP and purchasing. Adopted by over 550 trusts across 6,000 schools, IMP’s platform gives leaders the visibility and insight to plan with confidence. With strong customer advocacy and five-star Trustpilot reviews, IMP is a trusted partner for MAT finance teams and one of England’s leading education software providers, helping trusts focus on what matters most: delivering the best outcomes for pupils.
Announcing this award in its January 2026 edition, The Assignment Report detailed:
“Founded in 2019 by Will Jordan (CEO) and Dave Hall, IMP Software’s flagship product is IMP Planner, a purpose-built MAT budgeting, forecasting and reporting tool. In 2023, the company launched IMP ICFP, a trust-led integrated curriculum financial planning tool, and in March 2025 launched IMP Finance, which aims to transform how MATs manage the purchasing process and approval workflows.
Ongoing pressures on UK school budgets have made the effective allocation of resources and agile financial management more crucial than ever and IMP’s products enable MATs to make informed decisions on both resource allocation and financial planning simultaneously. 2025 saw IMP Software continue its upward growth trajectory, increasing the number of MATs and schools served to 550 and 6,000, respectively, and its share of its chosen market to 55%.
Bootstrapped by its founders since launch, IMP’s success was recognised in September 2025 when the company received a significant minority investment from Partech Growth fund to support its next stage of development. The investment will allow IMP to more than double its R&D spend, evolving its product suite and launching new solutions for MATs, independent schools and FE colleges. Headquartered in Paris, Partech’s investment brings not only capital but experience supporting fast-growing product-led technology companies.
Congratulations to Will Jordan and Dave Hall and their team of 120 staff for being named The Assignment Report’s UK Education Industry Company of the Year 2025.”
