Do you know my Knight(s) in shining armour?

Today three men came to my aid after my Ford KA skidded across an Exeter dual carriageway.

I had just passed Sandy Park and Tescos when my car came into difficulties, leaving me facing oncoming traffic.

A white van man and two passers by came to my aid, ensuring I was ok and my car was moved safely out of the road.

The first man that stopped to help even made sure I would be ok until help arrived.

I was so shaken I did not get chance to properly thank these men. If your husband/boyfriend/son came home today and told you a story about helping a young woman,...

6 Ways You Know Your Relationship is Over

#1 – You Want Different Things

Everybody wants different things out of life. A lot of relationships come to a natural end when two people realise they are at a crossroads – and moving in totally separate directions. Is your partner about to leave for a job or university course hundreds of miles away? Do they want children when you don’t? The pain comes when you try to pretend the crossroads isn’t there. Sometimes you have to make a hard decision about your relationship. People grow apart, and that’s okay.

#2 – You Don’t Talk

Communication is the foundation of a...

6 Relationship Myths That Need Busting

Myth #1 – They Have the Same Interests

Even though sharing some interests can be fantastic, most relationships flourish only when there is some activity that you enjoy, which your partner might not. Spending time apart is almost as important as spending time together, for a thriving relationship. Having separate interests could also allow you and your partner to teach each other new and interesting things. If you feel that you have nothing in common with your companion, you should consider doing something together on a regular basis, such as a weekly trip to a museum or a cooking...

Top Ten Saddest Movie Endings of All Time

#1 -Philadelphia

This Oscar-winning 1993 movie stars Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, and Antonio Banderas. Directed by Jonathan Demme, it tells the tale of Andrew Beckett’s (Hanks) legal battle against the company that fired him for being gay and having AIDS. Of course, a movie about AIDS in the early 90’s was unlikely to have a happy ending. After Beckett finally succumbs to his condition, the movie ends with the uplifting and devastating footage of his funeral, full of family and friends celebrating his life. As the camera slowly pans into home videos of Beckett as a child playing...

5 Reasons to End a Friendship

#1 - User

Not all ‘friends’ have good intentions, and those that only want to use you are certainly ones you need to stop hanging out with. Sure, loaning a little money here and there and doing a couple favors when you can are needed in a friendship. But, when you are the only one doing these things, you need to question what the other person is willing to do for you. People that are always there for you are the ones worthy of doing favors for. However, the ones that just need you for a minute and disappear afterwards are the ones you need to push out of your life.

7 Signs That Alien Life Actually Exists

#1 – Apollo 11′s Sighting

This is one of the most famous incidents when it comes to alien sightings. This occurred years ago on the famous Apollo 11 mission when the crew saw a strange object from their location. The crew assumed it to be a detached part of the rocket until it was found out that the object was actually 6000 miles away. It has been years since the sighting, but NASA still has no answer to this mystery.

7 Great Ways to Say You’re Sorry

#1 – The Straightforward Approach

One of the best ways of saying you’re sorry is to not beat around the bush and say how remorseful you really are. Don’t be defensive of your actions or what you said, and don’t try to downplay what happened. Also avoid the cardinal mistake of blaming the other person for your actions. Accept the fact that you were in the wrong, and make sure that you express it properly.

#2 – Write a Poem

If you are a creative person, you could write a poem or a song which shows how you feel. The key is to keep it simple, yet expressive. In case you...

Vote for the Future, Don't Vote for Fear

We seem to pride ourselves on our democracy – that we have occasional opportunities to influence the choice of our leaders, yet we are surely a long way from Abraham Lincoln’s definition of “government of the people, by the people, for the people.” At best we live in a representative democracy whereby we elect politicians at different levels and lend them our permission or power for a few years to represent our concerns at centres of governance, whether Town Hall, Whitehall or Strasbourg. But this is a limited political process and does not open itself readily to the more participative...
