Exeter success at Energy Efficiency Awards

AN EXETER consultancy took a top prize at the South West Energy Efficiency Awards.

City Science, of Southernhay West, won the Energy Consultant or Consultancy of the Year award.

John is SW Vocational Learner of the Year

Exeter resident Josh Ellis has been awarded the title of the South West’s 2015 VQ Learner of the Year, in recognition of his outstanding achievement following a vocational qualification in Plumbing at Exeter College. PETA's first-ever Student Award has been delivered to the University of Exeter's Animal Welfare Society in recognition of the student advocacy group's outstanding work in bringing to light the suffering of nearly 30,000 animals – 17,000 of whom are currently housed on campus – imprisoned and experimented on by the university over a seven-year period.

THE Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has been highly commended for the second year in a row for the success of its apprenticeship scheme, which continues to bring significant benefits for learners and the organisation.

Two of its apprentices, Mandy Harper and Rhian Carruthers, have also received awards for their achievements.

Trust gains national recognition for use of high-tech eRoster system

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust was highly commended at a national awards ceremony for its use of a high-tech electronic system to ensure safe staffing levels.

The Trust was a finalist in the ‘project team of the year’ category at the annual Allocate Awards in Birmingham.

The Trust has used the HealthRoster staff management system since 2008.

It has since become one of the first Trusts in the country to roll out additional software called SafeCare and CAM.

Scouts from Devon were honoured by international adventurer Chief Scout, Bear Grylls at Windsor Castle for gaining their Queen’s Scouts Awards on Sunday 26th April 2015.

A leading Devon law firm has reached the shortlist for the inaugural Legal Innovation Awards for its ground-breaking iPhone App for clients.

The finalists for the prestigious 2015 Exeter Foundation Devon Sports Awards have been announced.

The Awards, which are being held at Exeter venue Sandy Park on the 8th May, attracted a record number of nominations from sports varying from archery, athletics and Tae Kwon-do to sailing, skateboarding and table tennis.
