NPS SW Ltd has received an award for their strong support of Farmwise Devon

Farmwise Devon had another extremely successful event this year and the day was attended by over 1,400 primary school children from across Devon from 27 different schools.

The event gives children the opportunity to visit Westpoint and learn about farming, food production & stewardship of the countryside. Feedback from the event both from children and teachers has been extremely positive.

The event is very well supported by tenants from the Devon County Farm Estate and the tenants are a central pillar of the event. Tenants play an intrinsic part of most of the 12 activity zones and bring livestock, equipment and activities that make the event a great success.

Grace Hicks (Estates Surveyor) from NPS is the Assistant Organiser of Farmwise Devon and works closely with our tenants to help deliver the event. Grace’s contribution to the event has just been recognised by the Association of Chief Estates Surveyors.

Grace is pictured with Richard Wynne, President of ACES on 14th November 2014  at Field Fisher, London. The award is given for Excellence in Property Management and is very prestigious. All involved with Farmwise and Grace are pleased that it recognises the importance of Farmwise as an event.

Farmwise 2015 will be back next year in the Autumn.

Feedback on the event is important in guiding Farmwise to do ‘even better next time’ and prizes are being given to Chudleigh Knighton CofE Primary School, St Johns Catholic Primary (Tiverton) and Decoy Primary (Newton Abbot) as the schools that provided the greatest level of response and will receive prizes of £75, £50 & £25.

As a follow on to Farmwise and the introduction of the Woodland Zone, Clyst St Mary Primary school are being invited to support a tree planting event at County Hall in January to replace trees that were lost in the St Valentines day storm of 2014.
