VUE has announced its latest calendar of sporting events, featuring Europe’s top teams facing off in the UEFA finals.

From Tuesday 3 May, football fans can watch some of England’s biggest teams play for glory across two of world football’s biggest club competitions, as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League screen at Vue in partnership with BT Sport.

Exeter City debut big screen

A giant new electronic screen at Exeter City Football Club’s ground, St James Park, has finally made its debut.

The club was given permission for the 29 x 17-feet (8.64 x 5.12 metre) LED screen by the city council around the start of the season last August, but delays meant fans had to wait until Saturday to see it in action for the first time.

New teams wanted in Exeter for Tuesday evening Community 6-a-Side League

The league operates on Tuesday evenings @ ISCA ACADEMY astro pitch and is affiliated to the FA.

Qualified referees are used to officiate games and all games are 40 minutes slots. The weekly fee to play is from £4 per player and each team play 1 game per week. Fixtures and league tables are on the league website and updated on a weekly basis.

Over 100 players weekly take part in the league and any standard of player or team are welcome to join. You can sign up as team or as an individual player and individual players will be entered into a team.

Soccersixes Wednesday night 6-a-side league held at ISCA College currently holds space for up to 16 teams playing on one single night.

Why not get a group together be it through people at work or mates outside of work with an aim to be more active and support the community league in doing so.

Divisions available to suit all player standards and one-off games are available to trial the league without any future commitments. If after the trial the team wants to commit to a season, then sign up is online.

Exeter’s grass-root community under 13’s football team, Cranbrook United FC, has been sponsored by Purplebricks, Britain’s biggest estate agent brand*, ahead of its new season.

The Purplebricks logo now appears on the team’s new home shirts, funded by the tech-led estate agent. A pitch has been unveiled at the national football centre, in memory of former FA colleague and friend Jon Gittens. A role model and pioneer in coach education, as a Black coach developer Gittens was a leading voice in the conversation on equality, diversity and inclusion during his time with English football's governing body.

ECFC completes successful search for missing shareholders

Exeter City has successfully rehomed around 3,300 shares following a recent drive to find missing shareholders.

Over recent months, volunteers at the club have worked to find people - or relatives of those - who had bought £1 shares in the club, which had been issued a number of times to raise capital.

Most people acquired them because they were fans and wanted to support the club, and as such were primarily of sentimental value. The earliest shares dated back to the 1930s and had been passed down through people’s families.

Thanks to the volunteering of Soccersixes staff and referees, through lockdown the 6aside league managed to raise and donate £2,025 to the NHS.

The 6-a-side league provider who usually operate 6-a-side leagues outdoors on 3G pitches decided during lockdown to help the NHS and to therefore operate an e-soccer online FIFA gaming tournament and raised the £2,025 with all profit going to the NHS.

Exeter Daily team launch new website dedicated to women's sport

A new website dedicated solely to women’s sport was launched today (Tuesday 14 July).

Women's Sport Daily will cover all female professional sport – from football, netball and cricket to tennis, golf and Olympic disciplines.
