Trading Standards is aiming to reduce the number of incidents in which babies and toddlers (under fives) are being accidently poisoned in Devon, Somerset and Torbay.

A recent report published by Public Health England shows that accidental poisoning is on the rise in the South West, with more children aged 0-4 being rushed to A&E. The report says that from 2014 to 2018 there were 186 emergency admissions in Devon, 206 in Somerset and 36 in Torbay because of accidental poisoning. Exeter care home resident reunited with message from late husband during WWII

Joy Wilkinson, a resident at RMBI Home Cadogan Court in Exeter, has been reunited with a recording from her husband Eric, an RAF serviceman, whilst he was serving in India during the Second World War. The message was found on an old record by a member of the public in Salisbury during a clear out and was played on BBC’s The One Show, to help reunite the recording with its rightful owner. Representatives from the RAF Association visited the Home on Tuesday 8 May to give the recording back to Joy and had a short chat with her which featured later on The One Show.
