It's raining fashion at the Met Office

WESC Foundation, a school and college for children, young people and adults with sight loss, is a specialist centre for Visual Impairment. The Exeter-based charity held a sell-out fashion show fundraiser hosted at the Met Office sponsored by ITEC Connect. More than 150 guests descended on the Met Office before being whisked off in chauffer driven limousines courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Exeter to feel like a star posing for the paparazzi on the red carpet before enjoying a champagne reception.

The Met Office is playing host to a fundraising fashion show for Exeter-based charity WESC Foundation (WESC), to help raise much needed funds for the charity’s ‘Communication Aids Appeal’. Sponsored by ITEC Connect and compéred by popular broadcaster Judi Spiers, the event is being held on the 22nd October with John Lewis showcasing its autumn/winter 2015 collection featuring students at Exeter College as models, who will also be wearing their own designs.

Advances in visual impairment technology revealed in Exeter

Charity golf day raises funds for WESC

WESC Foundation - The Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment based in Topsham Road, Exeter, held their annual charity Golf Day at Sidmouth Golf Club sponsored by Itec UK.

Twelve teams of 4-ball Stableford took part from the local business community. The Golf Day raised £3,500 towards the charity’s ‘New activities & New adventures Project”.

Exeter firm refurbishes WESC Family Centre

The Rt. Hon. Hugo Swire MP for East Devon, carried out a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new social enterprise charity shop for WESC Foundation – The Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment, in Sidmouth.This is the fourth social enterprise for the charity with other outlets based in Heavitree, Honiton and Exmouth, each run by professional retail manager/trainers and assisted by a team of volunteers selling a large range of quality items including electrical goods.

WESC Foundation's result at Sandy Park

More than 40 staff, supporters and learners at WESC Foundation collected £1439 at Sandy Park on Saturday, when Exeter Chiefs played against London Welsh, winning 74/19 to storm into second place in the Premiership.

WESC Foundation was founded in 1838 and is based on the Topsham Road in Exeter. The charity is dedicated to sharing knowledge, expertise and technologies through effective partnerships and transforming the lives of those affected by visual impairment.
