Trust therapy staff bowled over by generosity of Exonia Bowling Club

Exonia Bowling Club in Exeter has donated more than £1,000 to support local people with multiple sclerosis.

Club president Kate Caldwell chose the community rehabilitation team at Mardon Neurological Centre as her charity of the year – and members helped to raise £1,105.

Kate has been receiving therapy from the team, which is part of the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.

She praised the individualised service she had received at the centre and asked for the donation to be used to provide greater support to people with MS.

A season’s best for Exeter City Football Club

Exeter City Football Club set a new record for the season against Fleetwood on Saturday – by raising a total of £969.77 for the Poppy Appeal during the half-time bucket collection.

The previous highest total for the current campaign was £926.43, which had been raised for the Adam Stansfield Foundation during the Grecians’ Capital One Cup tie against Championship side Crystal Palace.

England Rugby 2015, Organising Committee for Rugby World Cup 2015, have today confirmed that Sandy Park, home of Premiership Rugby side Exeter Chiefs, has been added to the long list of match venues for Rugby World Cup 2015. Pure Love show no sign of slowing down with a new set of headline dates confirmed, a support tour with Pulled Apart By Horses, new single Riot Song out 22nd October and their highly anticipated debut album Anthems coming February 4th.

The Brooklyn based Pure Love, Frank Carter and Jim Carroll, this month played storming shows with Paramore and Billy Talent as well as a phenomenal set at Reading and Leeds festival this weekend. Exeter Round Table’s Annual charity fireworks display is being held at Westpoint again this year.

This spectacular event has grown to become the biggest fireworks display in Exeter, and taken on a new dimension since moving to Westpoint three years ago.

Expect a great fun night out for everyone with fairground rides, food and drink stalls and of course a spectacular fireworks display by Firemagic (UK) Ltd.

Gates open at 5.30pm, fireworks display starts at 7.30pm.
