Local Author P.J. Reed publishes her fourth book - 'Flicker'

Local author, poet, and generally eclectic writer P.J. Reed has just published the fourth book in her collection of senryu and haiku poetry.

P.J. Reed is a member of the Exeter Authors Association and this is the first of her two books published in 2017.

Bestselling author inspires pupils

Exeter School celebrated the Ides of March, the day Julius Caesar met his end, with a visit by a bestselling author of books about the Romans.

Ben Kane, who has been writing bestsellers about Roman soldiers and gladiators for ten years now, appeared at the school on 15 March dressed as a Roman soldier, bringing with him a complete legionary's equipment: boots, shield, chain mail, helmet and the dreaded gladius, the Roman short sword.

Romantic suspense novel explores second chances

Exeter School was privileged to receive a visit from renowned author, Kevin Crossley-Holland, who is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and President of the School Library Association on Tuesday 10 May. Students at the Maynard School enjoyed a pre-Christmas treat when Victoria Holmes, creator and editor of the hugely popular Warriors series, hosted all day workshops and book signings in the library on Tuesday 1 December 2015.

The author had been invited to the school on the insistence of a number of girls who have been completely fascinated by the best-selling books depicting an exciting fantasy world of wild cats who live in clans in the forest.
