Devon to freeze in icy blast

The Met office has warned of incoming frost as temperatures plunge in Devon.

An icy blast is set to end the current mild spell in the South of England and will begin a period of low average tempretures over the coming months.

The Met Office said: “Indications are that December will most likely be colder than average.

“For December-January-February as a whole uncertainty is quite large but below-average temperatures are more likely than above-average.”

The average temperature in December is 3.9C while January is slightly chillier at 3.6C.

Teignbridge supports Falls Awareness Week

Teignbridge residents are encouraged to share their personal stories at a new awareness event aimed at the dangers of slips, trips and falls in the home.

Those who have suffered an injury in their own home - or know someone who has - are invited to attend the story sharing event to highlight the problem to others and help find a solution.

The event brings together a range of professionals, led by Teignbridge District Council, who are working together in a pioneering programme of work aimed at reducing the number of people suffering trips and falls in their own home

Not only that, you will be able to sample delicious refreshments including cakes, traditional cream teas and a beer tent - certainly something to tempt everyone!

Today Age UK launched a definitive report into the lives and health of people over 85, the fastest growing demographic group in the UK redefining the frontiers of human existence.
