Three Exeter Chiefs players are in the England squad for the Rugby World Cup 2015.

Henry Slade, Geoff Parling and Jack Nowell are all in Stuart Lancaster's squad.

Jockeys, showjumpers and event riders will come head to head for charity at Bicton Arena’s annual charity competition on Saturday, September 12.

Newton Abbot Racecourse is the headline sponsor at the event which is held as a fund raiser for the Injured Jockeys’ Fund during the arena’s September showjumping show. It attracts a huge crowd of well wishers keen to watch the hooves flying and to cheer on their chosen teams. A party in the marquee following the competition is an added attraction.

EXETER CITY bowed out of the Capital One Cup despite an absolutely heroic first-half performance at the Stadium of Light.

Exeter Racecourse has launched its annual ‘Win A Share in a Racehorse’ competition prior to the start of its new season which begins on October 8.

The racecourse has teamed up with popular Devon trainer Martin Hill who will be offering an ownership experience with Rydon Pynes, a seven-year-old set to begin his novice chasing career in the Autumn. He has won two hurdle races and finished in the frame on another six occasions.

Details of RWC Exeter Fanzone revealed

Details of the Fanzone that will be set up in Exeter’s Northernhay gardens during the Rugby World Cup have been revealed.

City council officials have told the Exeter Daily that it will be open for 13 dates opening as early as 10am for some games and closing as late as 11.30pm for others.

Alcohol will be sold from 11am to 11pm (10.30pm on Sundays) .

Chase the Cup: 13 venues... 13 days... 1300 miles

From 6-8 September, the Household Cavalry Regiment will be taking part in an epic challenge; to cycle to all 13 of the Rugby World Cup venues in only 13 days, totalling to around 1,300 miles.

The cycle will be taking place to raise money for the Household Cavalry Foundation, which raises much needed funds to care for the casualties, soldiers, veterans, heritage and horses of the Household Cavalry. This challenge is also a great opportunity for the soldiers to hone their military skills, such as navigation and leadership.

Exeter Chiefs joined defending champions Gloucester in booking their place at Finals Night in this season’s Singha Premiership 7s.

Ricky Pellow’s young charges overcame a heavy defeat in their opening game against the Cherry & Whites to then see off rivals Bath and London Irish.

It means the Devonians will now head for the capital as one of eight sides who will battle it out for glory at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday week.
