Exe-Arts is a community arts initiative offering 4 months of workshops open to the public, encouraging people to try out different art forms and meet up with other community members. The focus of these workshops includes drawing, painting, photography, graffiti, ceramics, fabric art and lantern making.

There are also sessions aimed at families that involve performing arts, drawing, painting, environmental art, photography and animation.

Exe-Arts workshops come to St David's

Superact is pleased to announce their new project Exe-Arts for the St David’s community in Exeter.

Superact is a not for profit arts organisation based at the Exeter Community Centre in St David’s, and from September will be offering community art sessions for all ages in the art rooms of the centre. Superact delivered a pilot for this initiative in March of this year and has now received funding to run a full programme of activity.

I'm really excited to announce the newest sewing class from Otton's Haberdashery - Cushion Covers! This is absolutely perfect for anyone new to sewing, hoping to gain confidence with a machine, or just looking to refresh those skills.

The class is 90 minutes long, in which time you'll learn about pattern cutting, hemming, and the basic functions of your sewing machine. You'll go home with a finished cushion cover to display proudly - and you'll soon be whipping them up for your friends!

Transform your textiles with Recycle Devon

Recycle Devon continues its series of public, free to attend repair, refurbishment and upcycling events to take place throughout 2015.

The events will pass on skills and ideas to keep bikes, electrical goods, furniture, clothes and other textiles from going to waste.

A range of FREE to attend workshops designed to help mend and repurpose clothes and household textiles starts on Saturday 16th May

The workshops will focus on repairing old clothes or textiles, bringing them back to life where otherwise they might have been thrown away.

Trill Farm, the 300 acre organic farm and education centre in Axminster has just added Basic Home DIY classes to its educational programme of sustainable living workshops.

Held on Friday 24th April and again on Friday 24th May 2015, this enjoyable hands on 1-day workshop will cover many of the common aspects of basic DIY, and is perfect for beginners who are not very confident about tackling small but important tasks in the home.

Recycle Devon is pleased to be able to launch a series of public, free to attend repair, refurbishment and upcycling events to take place throughout 2015.

The events will pass on skills and ideas to keep bicycles, electrical goods, furniture, clothes and other textiles from going to waste.

The initial series of workshops will focus on repair and maintenance of bicycles intending to help people bring a long, forgotten bike back into use that might otherwise have ended up being scrapped.

Photography project exhibition in Exeter

Meridian RAW, an Exeter-based social enterprise, has announced its first exhibition to celebrate completing the first year of one its projects.
