Honiton-based, “Say Yes To Life” Karate club came Runners-up in the medal table at the annual Seiwakai Open International Karate tournament in London on Sunday at the club’s very first competitive appearance.

Say Yes To Life teaches traditional Goju-Ryu Karate (as seen in the original Karate Kid movie with ‘Mr Miyagi’ and ‘Daniel Son’). Sport karate is only occasionally taught which makes the team’s success at the tournament even more noteworthy.

Last weekend, East Devon’s fastest growing traditional Karate club marked its 2 year anniversary with a prestigious Seminar and grading event at LED’s Ottery St. Mary Leisure Centre.

A prestigious international karate seminar will come to Ottery St Mary next month, hosted by East Devon’s SYTL (Say Yes To Life) Karate Club. The Seiwakai International Karate Seminar is being held at LED’s Ottery Leisure Centre on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September, with up to 150 local karate students and those from across the country taking part.
