New Year’s Day on Haldon Hill is a great Devon tradition and folk from far and wide gather at the racecourse to toast the first day of the year.

It’s the perfect day out for anyone who is new to racing with a great atmosphere guaranteed.

The first race is at 12.40pm.

Future jump racing stars set to line up at Exeter Racecourse for Best Mate Novice Chase Day

A plethora of future jump racing stars are set to line up at Exeter Racecourse today (Tuesday 22 October) when the course stages its annual Best Mate Novice Chase Day.

That particular race is named after the legendary racehorse Best Mate who began his glittering career over fences at Exeter in 2000. He went on to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup three times and amass over £1 million in prize money.

Last year’s meeting brought a host of stars to the track including Grade One winning Melodic Rendezvous, Rocky Creek and Harry Topper and next week’s seven race card looks set to...

Exeter Racecourse’s stunning River Room will be transformed into a wedding breakfast for 40 guests for two weeks during August, enabling brides-to-be to get a taste of what it would be like to have a wedding on Haldon Hill.

The room will be fully laid out with cutlery, crockery and glassware plus chair covers, swags, table decorations and lighting to give the wedding party some ideas for their big day.

The open weeks are in conjunction with Cover Cupboard who have their unit at the racecourse.

All roads will lead to Exeter Racecourse on 7 May, when its annual ladies’ night takes place and all tickets booked by midnight, 6 May are eligible for a 25% discount.
