Devon Chilli Fiesta - Photo Competition - Enter Now!

During the chilli fiesta, we will be hosting a special photography competition. The theme is chillies!

We will be offering prices for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and the judges will be the general public who attend the event. However you do not need to attend to enter.

A shortlist of 20 pictures will be selected by a panel of judges from the entries and then these photos will be blown up to prints measuring 18 inches by 12 inches. We will be working in conjunction with a local digital media specialist to help with this.

Devon Faith & Belief Festival Success

Following last year’s event held at Exeter University, nearly eight hundred people visited Paignton Library recently for the eagerly-awaited Torbay return of the annual Devon Festival of Faith and Belief.

The specially-staged weekend event was held to mark National Inter Faith Week, and returned to Torbay after a 3 year absence that saw it hosted at hosted at Plymouth University in 2011 and on Exeter’s campus in 2012.

Come and find the Festive Ferret on Exeter’s Fore Street.

On Saturday December 7th from 10am to 5pm there will be a carol singers, a string quartet, the seven swans a swimming, a special festive wrapping station, the chance of children to find the Festive Ferret in all participating shops in order to win a prize and much more. On Sunday 24 November, A la Ronde, near Exmouth, launches its third annual community Christmas Tree Festival.

Local organisations are invited to bring a decorated tree to be displayed in the grounds until 15 December.

The idea is to raise awareness of your organisation in the local area and to convey key messages about what you do to other participants and A la Ronde’s many visitors during the run up to Christmas.

Major music festival to be staged at Westpoint Exeter

A brand new eclectic music and arts festival, Musico, has just been announced.

The event will be an exciting addition to the ever-growing South West festival scene, which includes Chagstock and the infamous Glastonbury.

Oxjam music festival takes over Exeter to raise funds for Oxfam

Over £2,750 was raised for Oxfam last weekend, when 60 artists and bands played live across Exeter for The Exeter Daily-sponsored music festival, Oxjam Exeter Takeover.

Exeter was just one of up to 60 towns and cities across the UK that took part in the festival, all on the same weekend.

Events began at midday on Saturday and included acts performing in Princesshay, the Guildhall Shopping Centre and Exeter Phoenix.

A bumper crop to be celebrated at the Killerton cider and apple weekend

In stark contrast to last autumn, the Killerton National Trust estate near Exeter is celebrating a bumper crop of apples at this weekend’s Killerton cider and apple festival.
