International artists celebrate soils in Deep Roots exhibition

The work of six important international artists is to be exhibited together for the first time in the South West. The exhibition Soil Culture: Deep Roots will feature works by Paolo Barrile, Mel Chin, herman de vries, Richard Long, Ana Mendieta and Claire Pentecost.

Soil Culture Project wins funding

The Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW) has received £16,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for an exciting project focused on the natural and cultural heritage of soils in the South West.

This is part of CCANW's wider 'Soil Culture' programme organised in collaboration with Falmouth University and supported by Arts Council England. It is an important UK contribution to the United Nations International Year of Soils 2015.

The Trembling Grass is a mixed-media exhibition that highlights conflicts between nature and humankind caused by climate change and the depletion of natural resources. Named after a line from a John Clare poem and displayed in the 150th anniversary year of this poet's death.

New Exeter home for environmental arts organisation

At the end of March 2013, the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW) will move its operation from Haldon Forest Park to the Innovation Centre on the University of Exeter campus.

Peter Randall-Page: Drawings and Prints

The sculptor Peter Randall-Page is noted for his stone carving and fascination with the complex relationship between geometry and biology.

As a prelude to his major exhibitions at Peninsula Arts and Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery in January, and Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton in May, we are showing a selection of his botanical drawings and prints made 1994 - 2000. ll work is for sale, and there is a 20% discount offered to Friends of CCANW.
