Devon hotels up for awards

Members of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association are looking forward to another year at the Devon Tourism Awards with seven hotels nominated this year. The recent announcement of this year’s nominees include members Highbullen Hotel Golf and Country Club, The Magdalen Chapter, The Horn of Plenty, Northcote Manor Country House Hotel and the Deer Park Country House Hotel.

The hotels have been nominated across categories that include B&B and guest accommodation of the year, dog friendly accommodation of the year, large hotel of the year, small hotel of the year, taste of Devon award, tourism pub of the year and venue and business tourism award.

Runners up at last year’s awards, Deer Park Country House Hotel were delighted to be nominated for a second year running. Mark Godfrey, Managing Director at the Deer Park said, “It was an amazing feeling to be nominated again this year having come so close to winning in 2013. We have so many exciting things happening at the Deer Park this year and winning the award would be the icing on the cake.”

Each winner endured a three-stage judging process, including assessment of their website, entry forms, mystery visits and a final independent judging panel.
