The Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s returns to Sandy Park for the third time on July 15-16 2017.

Twelve of Europe’s top international Rugby 7s teams will compete in what is the final leg of the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series that gets underway in Russia on 3&4 June.

Enter your team into Exeter's annual 7s tournament, taking place for the third time on the 15th and 16th July 2017 at Topsham Sports Ground and Sandy Park.

The SW Rugby 7s tournament includes men's and women's competitions and there are great prizes on offer for winners and runners up.

Entry is just £120 for a team but you can secure your place with just a £20 deposit.

Excitement is building ahead of this weekend’s Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s, which returns to Exeter’s Sandy Park, 9-10 July.

For the second successive year, the home of top flight rugby in the Westcountry will play host to Rugby Europe’s top 12 countries in the second leg of their Grand Prix Series.

Fixtures confirmed for Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s

The pools and fixtures for next month's Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s have been confirmed as Sandy Park prepares to host the Rugby Europe Grand Prix Sevens Series for the second time.

The tournament, which takes place July 9-10, forms a key part of GB Sevens' preparations for Rio with the wider training squad competing as two teams, the GB Lions and GB Royals.

GB Royals will face Portugal, Poland and France during match day one while GB Lions will take on Belgium and Italy before concluding day one against Germany. The full schedule can be found here .

Exeter Chiefs skills coach Ricky Pellow believes news that the European Grand Prix 7s Series is heading to the Westcountry is a major coup for the rugby-mad region.

Sandy Park to host European 7s

Exeter’s Sandy Park is to host the third leg of Rugby Europe’s 2015 Grand PRIX 7s series, it has been announced.

This will take place over the weekend of 11 and 12 July.

Council Leader Pete Edwards welcomed the news.

He said: “This is another fantastic boost for Sandy Park and the city of Exeter and will serve as an appetizer for the Rugby World Cup 2015 a couple of months afterwards.

"To have two major sporting events on our doorstep within weeks is a major coup for city and the eyes of the world will surely be on Exeter this year.”
