Agrifest returns to Westpoint

The Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA), the organisation that has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Devon since 1872, has announced that Agrifest South West will be returning to Westpoint this autumn on Wednesday November 8th.

Agrifest South West is now an established event under the DCAA’s direction, acting as a showcase for the region’s unrivalled expertise in the cultivation of primestock cattle and sheep.

Exeter Philharmonic Choir will join forces with the Isca Ensemble and four talented young soloists for November’s ‘Music of the Baroque’ concert in Exeter Cathedral, including Handel’s outstandingly beautiful choral works Dixit Dominus and Zadok the Priest , Vivaldi's Gloria and Alessandro Marcello’s Oboe Concerto in D minor .

Exeter Philharmonic Choir opens its 176th season with musical fireworks in memory of the Queen

There will be musical fireworks in Exeter Cathedral on Saturday, 5 November with a glorious concert in memory of the late Queen, combining the exciting sounds of choir, brass, organ and percussion.

Bradfords Building Supplies has donated £10,000 to men’s health charity Movember after smashing its target of 50,000 views for its Men’s Health Week video. More than 185,000 people saw the video message to check in on a mate over the course of the awareness week (13-19 June 2022).

Sports stars including Exeter Chiefs RFC and England player, Henry Slade, plus Somerset County Cricket Club captain, Tom Abell, featured in the video which was hosted across Bradfords’ various channels including YouTube.

Exeter care home residents and staff support Movember

Residents and staff at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court in Exeter supported Movember this week to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

Ladies and gentlemen at the Home, some in their 90s, had a giggle donning fake moustaches to pose for photos, and enjoyed an afternoon tea.

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when brave and selfless men around the world grow a moustache and women step up to support them, all to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.
