RGB launches last Community Fund for 2019

Through its Well Built Community Fund, RGB Building Supplies has already donated £5,000 for groups, charities and schools to spend at its branches this year. It has one last giveaway for 2019 and is calling for nominations for the chance to win £1,000 to purchase building materials or tools.

RGB's Community Fund aims to help groups complete much-needed projects that they would not otherwise be able to.

YMCA launch community wellbeing hub on Newcourt estate

YMCA Exeter have partnered with Exeter Community Initiatives, Newcourt Community Association and Trinity Church to offer a new wellbeing hub at the heart of the Newcourt estate in Exeter.

The local youth charity provides services in Supported Accommodation, Employment & Training and Health & Wellbeing. YMCA own four houses on the Newcourt estate where their residents can move on into independent living following a period of homelessness.

A new report published by the British Red Cross and Aviva shows that the majority of people in Devon want to help if disaster strikes in their community but would not know what to do. (1)

The report, ‘When Crisis Hits: mobilising kindness in our communities’, published today, reveals that nine in ten people (90%) in Devon say that if an emergency happened in their community they would want to get involved, yet nearly half (45%) of people would not know what to do if a disaster struck.
