Many of us have envisaged how we want our wedding day to pan out from an early age, making the pressure and hope that all goes well ever more stressful. If your special day is fast approaching, it’s only normal to feel a little nervous, so here are five tips to help prep for the big day, ensuring you’re ready and raring to go.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

It’s only natural that you will go through a range of emotions on the night before your wedding day, therefore, it’s important that you get as much sleep as you can. From the moment your big day arrives, all the way through to the evening do, being on your feet and the centre of attention can take its toll, so having enough energy is crucial. There are lots of tips available on how you can get a good night’s sleep, helping you to wake up feeling ready and prepared for the big day ahead.

Lay Out Your Dress

Before you go to bed, make sure that you hang your dress up, and have all your shoes and accessories laid out. Make sure to cut off any labels on your dress, as well as your bridesmaid’s. If you are getting married at an outdoors venue, you should be prepared for all types of weather. We all know how unpredictable British weather can be, so keeping your dress and accessories dry and in excellent condition is important.

Remember to Eat

With butterflies swirling around in your stomach, you may feel too excited or anxious to eat, however, it’s incredibly important to have a healthy and hearty breakfast to last you through the day. Try to stick with fresh fruits and natural yoghurt, which will set you up perfectly for the big day ahead. Make sure to avoid any stodgy or greasy foods which can leave you bloated, especially if your nerves are heightened.

Treat Yourself

Make sure that you have some time in your schedule for some ‘me’ time. Whether it be having a warm and relaxing bath to help reduce stress levels or lighting some calming candles, having some time to chill out and unwind can help you feel more prepared for your wedding day. If your mind is going into overdrive with thoughts about the big day, taking your mind off it and having some pamper time can make all the difference.

Leave Extra Time

Anything can happen on your wedding day (good or bad!), so it’s important that you leave extra time, meaning you won’t feel rushed out the door. It’s better to get ready early, rather than leaving everything to the last minute, giving you more time to spend with your bridesmaids, friends, and family.

Your wedding should be one of the most joyful and memorable days of your life, so being prepared as can be for the big day is crucial. Getting a good night’s sleep, having your dress and accessories sorted, remembering to eat, as well as factoring in extra time are just a few tips on how to prepare for your special day.
