Noble Yeats is one of the most successful Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorses in recent memory, having won the 2022 Grand National in Aintree, England, the 2022 Many Clouds Chase, and the 2024 Cleeve Hurdle.

Emmet Mullins trains the nine-year-old Bay Gelding, and it will be competing in the Stayers’ Hurdle at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival. Can Noble Yeats add another major victory to his impressive CV? Let’s dive in to find out.

Can Noble Yeats with the Stayers’ Hurdle at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival?

Ridden by Harry Cobden, Noble Yeats recently warmed up for the 2024 Cheltenham Festival in late January 2024 by running in the Cleeve Hurdle trials for the Cheltenham Festival’s Stayers’ Hurdle race.

Some people had already ruled out Noble Yeats, but others believe that it could be his time again for another significant career win. A total of 25 horses will be racing, and many of today’s most trusted online bookmakers currently have him as the third or fourth odds-on favourite to win.

What are the latest odds for Noble Yeats to win the Stayers’ Hurdle?

Noble Yeats may not be the odds-on favourite to win the Stayers’ Hurdle this year at the Cheltenham Festival, but people who are looking to place a bet on him to win will be happy with the latest odds.

If you were to place a bet right now on which horse might win the upcoming Stayers’ Hurdle, most Cheltenham day 1 tips would tell you that Teahupoo will win outright, not Noble Yeats. Here are the latest average odds:

  • Horse name: Teahupoo (odds-on favourite to win the Stayers’ Hurdle outright). Odds: 2/1 (fractional odds), 3.00 (decimal odds), +200 (American/moneyline odds). Implied probability rate (IPR): 33.30%
  • Horse name: Irish Point (second odds-on favourite). Odds: 3/1 (fractional odds), 4.00 (decimal odds), +300 (American/moneyline odds). IPR: 25.00%
  • Horse name: Crambo (third odds-on favourite). Odds: 5/1 (fractional odds), 6.00 (decimal odds), +500 (American/moneyline odds). IPR: 16.70%
  • Horse name: Noble Yeats (fourth odds-on favourite). Odds: 8/1 (fractional odds), 9.00 (decimal odds), +800 (American/moneyline odds). IPR: 25.00%

Some of the other horses with favourable odds competing in the same race are Sir Gerhard (9/1), Flooring Porter and Monkfish (both 12/1), Home By The Lee and Paisley Park (both 16/1), and Sire de Berlais (20/1).

If you’re looking for an outsider to win this race and don’t fancy any of the favourites, then you might be more interested in Proschema and West Balboa (both 100/1) and Bold Endeavour (150/1 – the least favourite, or underdog).

Things to remember before betting on the horses

One of the most important things to remember before betting on the Cheltenham Festival Stayers’ Hurdle is that no bets are guaranteed to win, even when betting on the favourites. The other thing to remember is that although these 2024 Cheltenham Festival odds are accurate at the time of writing, they are subject to change at any time.

To help you place more informed bets, try to conduct as much research as possible. If there’s a horse you want to bet on, find out its current form (recent results), what kind of ground it runs bets on, and what the ‘going’ (course/ground) conditions will be like on the day.

You may also want to find out what kind of record the trainer has and which jockey will be riding the horse on the day you want to place a bet. Understanding what the odds and implied probability rates are trying to tell you about an event’s most likely outcome is also important when placing sports bets.

Final note

There’s a good chance that Noble Yeats will win this year to add another incredible win to his CV, but anything can happen on the day, so we'll just have to wait and see. The Cheltenham Festival Stayers’ Hurdle is scheduled to begin on day three (March 14) at 15:50 GMT.
